Yes, that is what a spot repair is. The damaged piece comes out and a replacement goes in, without disturbing the surrounding floor. Having spare material from the original installation makes the match easier, though it is not always necessary.

Will the repaired area match the rest of the floor?

We aim for the closest possible match. On older floors an exact match is not always available, since the surrounding floor has aged and worn, and product lines change over time. We will be straight with you about what to expect before starting.

My floor is lifting near the doorway. What is that?

That is usually a threshold or transition working loose, and it is one of the most common repairs there is. The strip is repaired and reset so the joint sits flat and holds.

My floor got wet. Does the whole thing need replacing?
