What Is Luxury Vinyl Plank

Luxury vinyl plank, often shortened to LVP, is a synthetic flooring made in long planks that mimic the look of real wood. Each plank is built in layers. A wear layer on top protects against scratches and daily use, a printed design layer underneath carries the wood grain and color, and a rigid core below that gives the plank its strength and stability.

Because it contains no natural wood, it does not absorb moisture the way hardwood and laminate do. That is the reason it holds up in kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and entryways, and the reason it has become one of the most common choices in South Florida homes built on a concrete slab.
